Advanced Blemish Removal

Say Goodbye to Unwanted Skin Blemishes

Advanced Electrolysis is a safe and effective method for removing a wide range of common skin blemishes. This precise treatment uses a tiny probe and short-wave diathermy (heat) to target and treat specific skin concerns with minimal discomfort or downtime. Whether you’re looking to remove thread veins, skin tags, milia, or other minor skin imperfections, electrolysis offers immediate and lasting results.

For certain blemishes such as clear or white moles, I work in partnership with Map My Mole. This service follows British Association of Dermatologists’ teledermatology guidelines, ensuring that every mole is reviewed by leading dermatology experts before removal. You’ll receive a clear report within a few days, giving you peace of mind and helping us determine whether removal is safe in-clinic or requires onward referral.

Key Benefits:
  • Effectively treats a wide variety of skin blemishes
  • Quick, targeted treatment with long-lasting results
  • Minimal discomfort and downtime
  • Safe and suitable for most skin types
  • Boosts confidence with clearer, more even-toned skin
  • Prevents blemishes from worsening or spreading
What it treats:
How It Works:

A sterile, fine probe is applied to the affected area, delivering a tiny burst of heat that breaks down the blemish without damaging surrounding skin. The treated area then naturally heals over the following days, leaving the skin clearer and smoother.

If a mole or lesion requires screening before removal, we’ll arrange this in-clinic using Map My Mole . High-resolution images are reviewed by dermatology specialists, and results are typically available within 1–2 working days.

  • Recommended sessions: Often a single treatment is enough, but some blemishes may require follow-up
  • Treatment time: 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number and type of blemishes

Pre-Care
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including sunbeds) for at least 7 days before treatment, as tanned or sunburnt skin is more sensitive.
  • Do not apply active skincare (e.g. retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or exfoliants) to the area for 3 to 5 days prior.
  • Avoid waxing, threading, or bleaching the treatment area for 5 days before your appointment.
  • Do not use topical steroids or harsh acne treatments near the area for at least 7 days.
  • Stay hydrated and moisturise the area regularly in the days leading up to your treatment to help support skin recovery.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, speak to your practitioner beforehand, as a preventative may be recommended if treating the lip or surrounding area.
  • Do not consume alcohol or caffeine on the day of your appointment, as this may increase skin sensitivity and the likelihood of bruising.
Post-Care

Immediately after treatment:

  • Do not touch the treated area except when applying aftercare.
  • Apply your bespoke aftercare preparation gently, morning and night, as advised. Let it fully absorb before applying moisturiser or makeup.
  • Once the area is dry, makeup may be used if applied with clean cotton wool, a sterilised sponge, or freshly washed hands. Only use makeup from a tube—avoid compacts and sponges, which may carry bacteria.
  • Do not pick, rub, or scratch the treated area. This could cause infection or scarring.
  • If the sides of the nostrils were treated, avoid blowing your nose vigorously for several days.
  • If the bridge of your nose was treated and you wear glasses, try to remove them when possible or place a clean tissue under the frame.
  • Avoid getting any product into the eyes.

For 48 hours to 7 days post-treatment:

  • Avoid energetic exercise, which may overstimulate the area and delay healing.
  • Do not sunbathe or use sunbeds. Apply a high SPF daily for at least four weeks to prevent pigmentation.
  • Avoid swimming—pool chemicals may irritate or contaminate the area.
  • Stay away from heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms, or infrared therapy.
  • Avoid flying where possible, as cabin pressure may impact healing.

Frequently asked questions

How many treatments will I need?

Most blemishes only require one treatment, though some may need a follow-up depending on the type, size, and how your skin responds during the healing process.

Will the treatment leave a scar?

When aftercare is followed correctly, the risk of scarring is very low. Temporary redness or light scabbing is a normal part of the healing process. The treated area may appear pink at first, gradually fading to a lighter tone over time.

Is it suitable for everyone?

The sensation is usually mild and easily tolerated. You may feel a brief warm pinch as the blemish is treated, but the procedure is quick, and any discomfort tends to pass within moments. For most blemishes, a topical numbing cream can be applied to maximise comfort.
