Skin Boosters: The Injectable Moisturiser Your Skin Will Love

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to deeply hydrate, smooth, and improve overall skin quality from within. While they are not traditional dermal fillers, skin boosters can add subtle volume and contour by enhancing hydration and elasticity. They deliver moisture and nutrients directly into the skin to restore a healthy glow and refreshed appearance.
Key Benefits:
  • Deeply hydrates and improves skin elasticity
  • Smooths fine lines and softens crepey texture
  • Enhances skin glow and promotes a dewy, refreshed appearance
  • Improves overall tone and texture
  • Suitable for face, neck, décolletage, and hands
  • A natural-looking treatment that hydrates, smooths, and adds subtle volume
How It Works:
A series of targeted injections deliver hyaluronic acid (a moisture-binding molecule naturally found in the skin) just below the surface. This helps attract and retain water, improving hydration levels, elasticity, and texture. Over time, skin appears plumper, smoother, and more radiant.
Treatment Details:
  • Recommended sessions: 2 to 3 sessions spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 4 to 6 months
  • Treatment time: Approximately 45 minutes
  • Downtime: Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur and can last 1 to 10 days.

Pre-Care

Avoid sun exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. No sunbeds or active tan, your treatment may be refused if your skin is too sun-exposed.

Pause active skincare: Stop using retinoids, acids (AHAs/BHAs), scrubs, and vitamin C for 5 to 7 days beforehand to prevent irritation.

Hold off on blood thinners: Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for a few days unless prescribed, as they can increase bruising.

Wait if your skin is irritated: Postpone treatment if you have active acne, open wounds, cold sores, or any skin infections in the area.

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days before your appointment to support healing and better results.

Avoid alcohol: Skip alcohol for at least 24 hours prior as it can increase sensitivity and bruising.

No waxing or hair removal creams: Avoid these on the treatment area for 5 to 7 days before your appointment.

Come with clean skin: Arrive with a freshly cleansed face and no makeup, moisturiser, sunscreen, or skincare products.

Wait after other treatments: Wait at least 14 days after anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, or other aesthetic treatments. Let your practitioner know if you’ve had anything recently, as your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Post-Care

Avoid touching your face: Keep your hands off the treated area to prevent irritation or infection, especially in the first few hours.

No makeup or skincare: Avoid makeup and all skincare products (except what your practitioner provides or recommends) for at least 24 hours.

Skip active ingredients: Do not use retinoids, acids (like AHAs/BHAs), vitamin C, or exfoliants for 7 days post-treatment.

Stay out of the sun: Avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week. Use a high SPF once your practitioner says it’s safe to apply sunscreen again.

Avoid heat and sweating: No hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or intense workouts for 24 to 48 hours, as heat can worsen inflammation.

Don’t pick or peel: If your skin flakes or peels, let it come off naturally. Picking can lead to scarring or infection.

Use gentle products: Stick to a mild cleanser, the aftercare recovery balm provided, and a plain moisturiser unless otherwise advised by your practitioner.

Keep skin hydrated: Drink plenty of water to support healing from the inside out.

Avoid alcohol: It can dehydrate your skin and increase inflammation, so it’s best to skip it for at least 24 hours.

Sleep on a clean pillowcase: Change your pillowcase the night of your treatment and avoid sleeping face-down.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between skin boosters and dermal fillers?

Skin boosters focus on improving hydration, texture, and overall skin quality. While they can add subtle volume and contour, they don’t reshape or add structure like traditional dermal fillers.

How soon will I see results?

You may notice a healthy glow and improved hydration within a few days. Full results typically develop after 2 to 3 sessions, as collagen and elastin production is gradually stimulated.

Are skin boosters suitable for all skin types?

Yes, skin boosters are suitable for most skin types and ages. They’re especially effective for dry, dull, or ageing skin, and can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
