Polynucleotides

Target Ageing at the Cellular Level with Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are an advanced injectable treatment that work at a cellular level to repair, regenerate, and deeply hydrate the skin. Derived from purified DNA fragments, they stimulate tissue renewal, support collagen production, and help restore the skin’s natural balance for a smoother, healthier, and more youthful appearance.
Key Benefits:
  • Stimulates natural collagen and elastin production
  • Improves skin texture, tone, and elasticity
  • Reduces fine lines, crepiness, and early signs of ageing
  • Calms inflammation and promotes skin healing
  • Restores hydration and strengthens the skin barrier
  • Suitable for the face, under-eye area, neck, and hands
How It Works:

Once injected into the skin, polynucleotides promote cell regeneration by boosting fibroblast activity and stimulating collagen synthesis. They also have anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties, helping to repair damaged or ageing skin while improving overall structure and function over time.

Pre-Care

Avoid sun exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. No sunbeds or active tan, your treatment may be refused if your skin is too sun-exposed.

Pause active skincare: Stop using retinoids, acids (AHAs/BHAs), scrubs, and vitamin C for 5 to 7 days beforehand to prevent irritation.

Hold off on blood thinners: Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for a few days unless prescribed, as they can increase bruising.

Wait if your skin is irritated: Postpone treatment if you have active acne, open wounds, cold sores, or any skin infections in the area.

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days before your appointment to support healing and better results.

Avoid alcohol: Skip alcohol for at least 24 hours prior as it can increase sensitivity and bruising.

No waxing or hair removal creams: Avoid these on the treatment area for 5 to 7 days before your appointment.

Come with clean skin: Arrive with a freshly cleansed face and no makeup, moisturiser, sunscreen, or skincare products.

Wait after other treatments: Wait at least 14 days after anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, or other aesthetic treatments. Let your practitioner know if you’ve had anything recently, as your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Post-Care

Avoid touching your face: Keep your hands off the treated area to prevent irritation or infection, especially in the first few hours.

No makeup or skincare: Avoid makeup and all skincare products (except what your practitioner provides or recommends) for at least 24 hours.

Skip active ingredients: Do not use retinoids, acids (like AHAs/BHAs), vitamin C, or exfoliants for 7 days post-treatment.

Stay out of the sun: Avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week. Use a high SPF once your practitioner says it’s safe to apply sunscreen again.

Avoid heat and sweating: No hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or intense workouts for 24 to 48 hours, as heat can worsen inflammation.

Don’t pick or peel: If your skin flakes or peels, let it come off naturally. Picking can lead to scarring or infection.

Use gentle products: Stick to a mild cleanser, the aftercare recovery balm provided, and a plain moisturiser unless otherwise advised by your practitioner.

Keep skin hydrated: Drink plenty of water to support healing from the inside out.

Avoid alcohol: It can dehydrate your skin and increase inflammation, so it’s best to skip it for at least 24 hours.

Sleep on a clean pillowcase: Change your pillowcase the night of your treatment and avoid sleeping face-down.

Frequently asked questions

What are polynucleotides and how do they work?

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments derived from salmon or trout. These molecules stimulate the skin’s natural repair process by boosting collagen and elastin production, improving hydration, and encouraging cellular renewal. The result is firmer, smoother, and more radiant skin from within.

What skin concerns can polynucleotides treat?

Polynucleotides are ideal for addressing fine lines, dullness, crepey skin, under-eye hollows, scarring, and loss of elasticity. They’re also beneficial for sensitive or stressed skin, as they help reduce inflammation, promote healing, and support overall skin regeneration.

How many treatments will I need?

Most clients benefit from a course of 3 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. To maintain results, a top-up every 6 months is recommended, depending on your skin’s needs. Some individuals with deeper concerns or more advanced skin damage may require additional sessions to achieve optimal results.
